Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Review
eSports Gaming's CSGO Review
Global Offensive keeps the same formula of the older models, but it adds enough new features to make it feel fresh while keeping the competitive game play that the previous titles had. You die a lot, and when you’re new, you die even more. Dying is the greatest teacher, like most games, but here you learn exactly what you should have done, yell at yourself for not checking every corner, or realizing you still had a flashbang left. And it all feels great. It has a very addicting pull, you always want to do better the next game, or kill the opponent that wiped your entire team and it keeps you coming back. Kills are satisfying, guns are a blast, and the skill level is through the roof. If you’re coming from the COD series to CSGO, you will need to change your strategies drastically. But in a good way, it’s different from the shooters you see today. Mainly because it comes from a 15 year old formula that CS sticks with. You can’t just run and gun in this game or the opposing team will surely get a headshot. And you will get a headrage
Counterstrike GO brings back the same game modes that make it famous, Defusal. A game mode where the terrorists must plant a C4 explosive at one of two designated bombsites; the Counter-Terrorists must prevent the
bomb from exploding and it’s fun. Very fun. And this is where killing is the most satisfying. There is also Arms Race a game type that is deathmatch-based mode where each player is rewarded for each kill with a new weapon, with the first player to get a kill with every weapon in a predetermined set winning the game. And then there is hostage and demolition, hostage is a game type where you have to rescue hostages or prevent them from being rescued. Both are fun, but Defusal and Arms Race is really where the game shines. CSGO really, at it’s core, is a face lift to the previous version. But de_dust does look nice with some changes that will throw
veteran players off.
Overall the game is good. No matter the few changes. And for the low price of $15 dollars, you can’t beat it. We gave Counter-Strike: Global Offensive the following ratings.
Counter-Strike: GO – 7/10
eSports Rating – 8/10
